Three steps, no booking
Art Play runs painting workshops in London for every kind of painter, including people who haven't picked up a brush in years. Choose a guided class, an unguided session, a fluid art workshop or a short course. Materials are included, and our studios are in Shoreditch and Chelsea.
Painting workshops to choose from
1. Sip & Paint: a guided acrylic painting class on canvas. Two hours, £38.
2. FreeFlow: unguided painting with a canvas, paints and brushes for up to two hours, from £16.
3. Sip and Pour: acrylic pouring, where you make abstract art with fluid paint. 1.5 hours, £55.
4. 3-Week Watercolour Course: washes, colour mixing and a final painting. £90.
5. Paint Your Partner: paint each other's portraits. Tickets £45.
Guided workshops are led by artists who explain each step. Unguided sessions give you the space and materials and leave the rest to you. Either way, you don't need any experience.

If you're new to painting, start with Sip & Paint. The artist breaks the painting into simple steps and you'll pick up basic acrylic techniques as you go. Acrylic pouring is another easy way in, because it doesn't rely on brush skills.
Learn to paint properly
Want more than a one-off? The three-week watercolour course covers flat washes, gradients, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry, then colour mixing and simple forms, and finishes with a painting you plan and complete yourself.

Painting is one of the easiest activities to run for a group. Private Sip & Paint workshops start at £36 per person for 8 or more, acrylic pouring is £48 and private FreeFlow is £16.
