Three steps, no booking
Get your hands in clay at Art Play. Our pottery classes in London include a relaxed hand-building class for £32 and a 1.5-hour wheel throwing taster at Shoreditch for £55. Both are designed for complete beginners, with clay, tools and an instructor included, and there's a café and bar in the studio.
Choose your pottery class
1. Hand-building pottery: shape a ceramic piece by hand with step-by-step guidance. 1.5 hours, £32. Open to adults and children aged 9+ with an adult.
2. Wheel throwing taster: learn to centre and shape clay on the wheel. Your favourite piece is glazed and kiln-fired, ready to collect in 4 weeks. £55.
3. Children's hand-building: air-dry clay for ages 7+, £20.
4. Private pottery: groups of 8 or more, from £28 per person.
5. Included: clay, tools and full guidance.
Hand-building is the slower, more mindful option, shaping clay with your hands rather than on a wheel. The wheel is faster and messier. Not sure which to pick? Choose hand-building for a calm evening, or the wheel taster if you've always wanted to try it.
