Three steps, no booking
Art Play Shoreditch is a pottery café, studio and bar at 3 Norton Folgate, close to Liverpool Street. Drop in to paint an upcycled mug, plate or bowl, or book a hand-building class or a wheel throwing taster. Coffee, wine and pizza are on hand while you work.
How the pottery café works
1. Grab a drink: the bar serves coffee, soft drinks, wine, beer and cocktails.
2. Pick your pottery: choose from upcycled mugs, plates and bowls.
3. Paint it your way: it's unguided, with paints and brushes provided.
4. Or make from scratch: book hand-building (£32) or the wheel throwing taster (£55), both 1.5 hours.
5. Stay a while: pizza and snacks are available to buy at Shoreditch.
It suits a catch-up with friends, a casual date or a couple of hours on your own. Classes run on set dates and need booking. For pottery painting, ask in the studio what's available on the day.

Wheel throwing in Shoreditch
Shoreditch is where our pottery wheels are. The 1.5-hour taster teaches you to centre clay and shape a bowl, cup or small vessel. You choose your favourite piece to be glazed and kiln-fired, pick a colour, and collect it 4 weeks later.
Pottery parties in Shoreditch
Private hand-building pottery classes run for groups of 8 or more, from £28 per person, and the Shoreditch studio can be hired for birthdays, hen parties and team socials. Pizza, prosecco and wine can be added.
