Three steps, no booking
Art Play Shoreditch runs pottery classes for beginners at 3 Norton Folgate, close to Liverpool Street. Try the 1.5-hour wheel throwing taster (£55) and have your favourite piece glazed and kiln-fired, or book a relaxed hand-building class (£32). Clay, tools and an instructor are included.
Pottery classes at our Shoreditch studio
1. Wheel throwing taster: learn to centre the clay and shape a bowl, cup or small vessel. 1.5 hours, £55.
2. Glazing and firing: choose your favourite piece and a colour, and collect it 4 weeks later.
3. Hand-building pottery: shape a ceramic piece by hand with step-by-step guidance. 1.5 hours, £32.
4. Children's hand-building: air-dry clay for ages 7+, £20.
5. Extras: pizza, prosecco and wine can be added to hand-building bookings.
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. Aprons are provided for wheel throwing, and there's a café and bar in the studio. Please arrive on time: guests more than 10 minutes late may not be admitted.
