art bar in london
Three steps, no booking
Book a Valentine's Day workshop in London and spend the evening making something together. At Art Play's Paint Your Partner you paint each other's portraits, with canvas, paints and brushes provided and a bar on hand. Tickets are £45, it lasts around two and a half hours and no experience is needed.
How the Valentine's workshop runs
1. Arrive and settle in: get a drink from the bar and find your place.
2. Paint each other: canvas, paints and brushes are all provided.
3. Get help: guidance is on hand if you're stuck on a nose or an eyebrow.
4. Compare: the reveal at the end is the best part. It's about the fun, not the likeness.
5. Prefer something else? Sip & Paint (£38) and hand-building pottery (£32) run too.
It's a low-pressure date for new couples and a change of scene for long-standing ones. Check the venue shown on your chosen date, and book early for dates around 14 February.

A workshop beats a set menu
Valentine's dinners can feel like a production line. A workshop gives you two and a half hours of doing something together instead, and a pair of portraits to hang up or hide, depending on how they turn out.

If portraits aren't for you, try a guided Sip & Paint class, a hand-building pottery class or the wheel throwing taster at Shoreditch, where your favourite piece is glazed and kiln-fired for you to collect later.
Give a workshop as a Valentine's gift
Not sure which date suits? An Art Play gift voucher is digital and sent by email, so you can choose a workshop together afterwards. Or make the present yourself at a silver ring making or candle making class.
